I'm a historian of science. I spend my days thinking about public controversies in modern biology and the history of biological weapons development. I'm also interested in biosecurity and emerging tech policy, and regularly write about science for general audiences.

I'm an incoming PhD student in the HASTS program at MIT. I recently completed an MPhil in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at Cambridge. Before that, I worked as a genome editing scientist in Jennifer Doudna's lab at UC Berkeley. I earned an A.B. in Molecular Biology from Princeton, where I was an undergrad in Bonnie Bassler's lab. 

Lastly, I'm a saxophonist and composer influenced by jazz (fusion), funk, R&B, and electronic music. I've opted for unity (and the risk of clutter) by including that side of things on this site as well.
